This past summer I began to explore a section of Philadelphia known as “Devil’s Pocket.” Just 1.5 miles south of center city, it’s an area of houses and shops built alongside an expansive, humming power plant. In inner city neighborhoods, houses that have fallen into disrepair have been torn down leaving breaks in the urban fabric. The walls of adjoining buildings function as frames for the landscapes that have arisen. Some are strewn with trash and debris, while others are lush and verdant. website: danieltraub.net

Daryn Edwards, The Play House architect and ISA →
We cannot sing Daryn Edwards and ISA’s praises enough. Daryn was the architect of The Welcome House and is now our key architectural collaborator for The Play House.
Brian Phillips (also principle at ICA and recent PEW winner) along with Julie Beckman is heading up the Penn Design team which will be creating a wonderful installation in The Lot around The Play House.
